For the fifth consecutive year, I had the privilege of illustrating the iconic Men's Advent Calendar for Liberty London, helping to celebrate an extraordinary milestone: 150 years of one of the world's most recognisable and creative retail destinations.
The 2025 anniversary edition sold out completely, becoming not only a collector's piece for the festive season but also a celebration of Liberty's creative legacy and storytelling heritage.
Known for its rich history, craftsmanship, architecture, and commitment to artistic expression, Liberty has long been a place where design and imagination meet. For this special anniversary edition, I wanted the illustration to become more than packaging. I wanted it to become an experience.
Created in my signature Curiosity Snug® "What can you see?" perception art style, the hand-drawn illustration is filled with over 150 hidden gems woven throughout
Inspired by Liberty's history, people, products, architecture, and creative spirit, each hidden detail invites the viewer to slow down, look closer, and discover something new.
The concept behind my work has always centred around perception. The idea that different people can look at the same image and see completely different things. The longer you spend with the artwork, the more it reveals itself.
For this 150th anniversary edition, I wanted to capture that same feeling of discovery that Liberty itself evokes. A place filled with unexpected finds, creative treasures, and stories hidden around every corner.
Every section of the illustration was carefully hand-drawn, layering together architecture, symbolism, and visual surprises. The result is an artwork designed to be explored repeatedly throughout the festive season, rewarding curiosity with discoveries each time it is viewed.
Celebrating 150 years of Liberty meant honouring generations of creativity while creating something contemporary, playful, and immersive. Seeing the calendar completely sell out made the project feel even more meaningful, knowing the artwork would find its way into homes around the world.
As a perception artist, these are the projects I love most. Creating artwork that encourages people to pause, engage, and ask a simple question:
